Michael Vaughn is being recognized as one of the recipients of our Outstanding Alumni of the Year Awards for his lasting impact on the school community. Coach Vaughan was the first African American student at Brentwood Academy and today is a staff member who helps to foster a positive and encouraging environment. From the dining hall to the football field, he ensures that every student feels seen and valued. Coach Vaughn serves not only as a coach but also as a mentor, instilling discipline, unity, and character in his players and BA students. His tireless work, dedication to team building, and ability to inspire students make him a true role model.

KRISTI STONE ’88
Owner/Principal, Puffy Muffin
Kristi Stone is being recognized with one of our Outstanding Alumni of the Year Awards for her strong Christian faith and her unwavering commitment to philanthropic endeavors. Kristi often gives back to her community through her restaurant and bakery, Puffy Muffin, making a meaningful impact through her charitable work. She donates a free meal to veterans on Veteran’s Day, provides food to Room in the Inn, supports the Brentwood Police Department’s camps for kids, and regularly supports Big Table, an organization that provides support to hospitality workers. Kristi is deeply respected by her peers and is known for her kindness, integrity, and humility. Her leadership style fosters a positive work environment, earning the admiration and trust of her employees, whom she treats with great respect and care. Kristi's service to the community makes her a standout example of excellence and integrity within the alumni community.
HUNTER TERRILL FOX ’16
School Counselor
Hunter Terrill Fox is being recognized as one of the recipients of our Young Alumni of the Year Awards for exemplifying the values of service, leadership, and dedication to the well-being of others, making her an outstanding candidate for an alumni award. After earning her Master’s in Education from Loyola University-Chicago, she quickly gained the respect of her school community at St. Stanislaus Academy, earning a promotion to dean of students within a year. Hunter consistently goes above and beyond, volunteering her time for school events, promoting the school in local neighborhoods, and even taking on the role of interim principal. Her holistic approach to counseling, which nurtures students' academic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth, has had a profound impact. Beyond her professional duties, Hunter’s commitment extends to her personal life, including creating a community "loaning" library. During her time at BA, Hunter spread positivity and kindness to her peers and was beloved by her teachers. Her BA experience led to her passion for supporting students and fostering a sense of community and reflects her dedication to enriching others' lives. Hunter’s unwavering service and leadership truly embody the spirit of an exemplary alumna.
CARA SADLER ’16
Teacher/Coach, Brentwood Academy
An additional Young Alumni of the Year Award goes to Cara Sadler for her exceptional dedication to Brentwood Academy and its mission. After graduating in 2016, she pursued higher education at Samford University, in hopes of making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people. Returning to BA, Cara selflessly commits herself to shaping the lives of middle school students, embodying the values of leadership and service. Her peers recognized her leadership qualities early on, choosing her as homecoming queen, and she continues to serve as a role model to current students. Through her work, Cara ensures that the spirit and mission of Brentwood Academy are passed on to future generations, making a lasting difference in her community.
DOUG BECK

Doug Beck is being recognized with our Friend of the Year Award for his unwavering dedication to Brentwood Academy even after his children have graduated. He actively participates in BA Dads events, from Friday morning coffees to service opportunities, always stepping up when help is needed. Whether it’s managing the grill at football games or welcoming new dads, Doug consistently goes above and beyond, ensuring that others feel supported and included. His commitment to the school is evident in his willingness to mentor new families, share his experiences, and advocate for the mission of BA within the larger community. Doug’s genuine care and intentionality make him an invaluable part of the BA family, exemplifying the spirit of a true BA parent of alumni. He consistently models selflessness, fostering a welcoming environment for all, and remains a steadfast supporter of the school. Doug’s presence at BA events is a testament to his commitment and loyalty to BA.
BOB AND APRIL TANNER ’93 WEBER FAMILY
The Weber family is being recognized with one of our Family of the Year Awards for embodying the spirit of Brentwood Academy as they live out BA's values with unwavering dedication and kindness. April, a member of the Class of 1993, has long been a pillar of support within the BA community, having served as a student, our admissions director, and now as a parent of two alumni and two current students. The Webers are tireless advocates for BA. They often open their home to students, providing a safe and welcoming space for those who need a place to relax or gather before a game. Their constant encouragement and warmth create an environment where all feel valued and connected.
The Webers are also committed to praying for BA's staff, faculty, coaches, students, and the greater community. Their kindness radiates through their five sons, all of whom exemplify the values of respect, compassion, and integrity. The family's generosity makes them a living testament to the mission of Brentwood Academy. Their impact is felt by everyone fortunate enough to know them, and they continue to inspire others to lead with hearts of service and love.
DAN AND LINDA BROWN FAMILY
The Dan and Linda Brown Family are being recognized with one of our Family of the Year Awards for their outstanding contributions to the school and community. Dan served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees twice and was instrumental in designing and fundraising for the school's library wing. His leadership and dedication significantly enhanced the school's resources. Additionally, Dan's relationship with former BA neighbor Mrs. Maggie Speight, helped facilitate our purchase of her land for BA's middle school and ensured that her property would benefit the school after her passing, showing his commitment to Brentwood Academy’s long-term success. Dan remains a strong proponent of growing BA's endowment.
Through the family’s impactful volunteer work, they have served a pivotal role in strengthening the school's foundation. The Brown family's selfless contributions and leadership make them exemplary candidates for this honor.
BILL AND SHARON SHERIFF FAMILY
As a recipient of the Family of the Year Awards, the Bill and Sharon Sheriff family is recognized for their longstanding and impactful contributions to Brentwood Academy. Bill served as Chairman of the Board in the 1980s, a critical period for the school, and was a key figure in its growth and development. Sharon also served on the board, making the Sheriffs one of only a handful of families where both spouses served.
Sharon’s dedication to Brentwood Academy during her time as a volunteer was unmatched, consistently offering her time and support to ensure the success of the school and its community. The family was instrumental in the addition of BA's softball field, both by bringing together other families in support and by physically helping clear the land as the field was being constructed. Students who knew the Sheriffs always knew their home was open and a meal was available. Together, the Sheriff family’s unwavering commitment to BA set a standard for service and leadership. Bill’s legacy continues to inspire, and Sharon's ongoing support exemplifies the spirit of giving that defines Family of the Year. Their enduring influence has made Brentwood Academy a stronger, more vibrant institution, and their contributions are still felt today.
